Monarch Youth Center at Lincoln
In the summer of 2025, IDJJ anticipates the opening of the new Monarch Youth Center in Lincoln, Illinois. Monarch will allow youth from central Illinois who are in secure custody of the state to remain closer to their communities and families. This youth center is designed to be trauma-informed, therapeutic, rehabilitative, and dorm-like in order to reduce the harm of incarceration and implement best practices in juvenile justice. IDJJ has already begun the process of recruitment and interviewing staff for this new youth center.
